Did you know All Industrial Electric Supply’s Nick Abbott is an avid golfer?

Last Friday Nick played in Covanta’s 2014 Charitable Golf Outing, held by the waste-to-energy solution provider’s SEMASS facility in Wareham, Massachusetts. The event raised $5,000 for the Message of Hope Foundation and $3,000 for a SEMASS employee who lost his wife this year after a brief illness.

During Covanta’s 14 years of hosting the event, SEMASS has raised over $160,000 for local charities, including Make-A-Wish Foundation, Homes for Our Troops, Paralyzed Veterans of America and Damien’s Food Pantry.

Nick was happy to represent All Industrial, which has been a sponsor for the event for the past two years. “AIES definitely does whatever they can to help all of our customers’ charities or events — especially when they benefit kids,” he explained.

He was also pleased to learn about Message of Hope, which gives bags filled with games and activities to hospitalized children. “The amount that they are doing in the community is really something to be admired,” he said.

The golf tournament was a great opportunity to not only participate in Covanta’s fundraising efforts but also spend time with one of All Industrial’s most valuable customers. “I have a good relationship with Moses Leite at the SEMASS location,” he added, “and little things like this go a long way, especially considering the distance from a customer. It really shows we appreciate the support.”

“We greatly appreciate the support from All Industrial and Nick towards this great cause, especially since AI is 3,000 miles away from us,” said Moses. “I view AI as an asset as they have come through for me time and time again, and it was great getting to know Nick outside of the 10 work emails I send him daily.

“I feel the relationship between SEMASS and AIES is growing stronger,” he added, “and Nick is one of the few reps that I trust and rely upon heavily.”

As for the actual golf, “I felt I played pretty well, compared to Moses,” Nick cracked. He spent the rest of his time in Massachusetts exploring Boston with Moses and his family.

“It was really a great trip all-around,” he said.
